Chinese food anyone? I love Chinese cuisine next to my
Filipino comfort food, and if you are like me, I got good news for you. Iloilo
Spring Palace Seafood Restaurant is the newest Chinese restaurant in town and
it is located smack between Smallville and Boardwalk, the city’s premier party
places.
Expect the usual wide selection of mouthwatering Chinese
dishes that we Ilonggos are used to, but there is nothing usual about Iloilo Spring
Palace. Why? This is the only Chinese restaurant that offers their clients a “live”
option.
If you think fresh is best, think again. Iloilo Spring Palace
offers something a lot better than fresh. Upon entrance, to your left is a huge
aquarium filled with live lobsters, crabs, prawns and Lapu Lapu fish. Simply point to the staff what you want and he will catch it for you. You also have the option to choose how the fresh produce
will be cooked, whether steamed, fried or with sauce.

to this . . . Salt and Pepper Baby Lobster |
We decided on Salt and
Pepper Baby Lobster and took our lovely time choosing our very lively lobster.
It was so delicious and cooked just right because the meat is not dry, but is a
bit juicy and quite tender. I just have
to come back and maybe try the Sweet and Spicy.
Here are the other yummy dishes we had for dinner:

My comfort food - Buttered Chicken |
 |
Salt and Pepper Spareribs |
 |
Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice |
 |
The best Buchi I have ever tasted, I swear. |
If you want a more private dinner with family or friends, or
have a corporate meeting, the restaurant has several airconditioned private
rooms aside from its main dining area. There are five rooms that have TV so you can have your karaoke sessions and sing your heart out. Minimum order is 5,000
per room.
