With the opening of Robinsons Place
Jaro Movieworld, movies are now made more accessible to me and
other residents of Jaro and nearby districts. I was one of those people who
eagerly looked forward to watching movies there.
Last week, I was finally able to go
and see two Metro Manila Film Festival movies at Robinsons Movieworld after the
holiday frenzy has died down. I just had to watch both Die Beautiful and Ang
Babae sa Septic Tank one the same afternoon as I can no longer hold my curiosity
as these two are among the most talked about MMFF entries.
Well, I was not disappointed with the
movies. It was a very enlightening and entertaining afternoon for me, even made
more pleasurable by Robinsons Place Jaro Movieworld’s facilities.
Allow me to share with you the reasons why
I like the cinema.
Accessibility
As I mentioned before, mall is located in Jaro where I also live, which means less travel time for
me. Under normal traffic, it only takes me 20 minutes to get there so I seldom
arrive late for a movie. I still have ample time to line up for the tickets,
buy my popcorn and drinks, and choose the best seat in the cinema.
Comfort
The cinema is smaller than the one at Robinsons Place Iloilo, but it does not mean you will enjoy
less comfort. The plush seats are very comfortable and big enough for even
those on the heavy side. You can enjoy the movie without craning your neck if
someone is sitting in front of you.
It also has a wide space at the back
reserved for those who come in wheelchairs so even the disabled or elderly can
enjoy watching movies there. The space can fit about 3 wheelchairs.
Airconditioning is great; however,
some people might find it too cold so it is best to bring a sweater or jacket
just in case.
More Snack Options
The cinema has its own snack bar that
sells chips, drinks and the all-time favorite popcorn. My movie experience is
not complete without a bag of popcorn. Popcorn are sold in different flavours -
butter, cheese and barbecue. The also offer combo snacks where you get popcorn
and a drink for a lesser price.
Aside from the snack bar, there are
also other food shops nearby. The cinema is located at the 3rd floor of
the mall, which is where the Food Gallery is also located. There you will find
an assortment of shakes, wraps, salads, hotdogs and more.
There is also Taters just a couple of
meters from the stairs going to the cinema. This popular food chain sells
flavoured fries and popcorn as well as nachos, munchers and drinks.
Movie Quality
Of course, picture and sound quality
is very important. Well, the cinema has the finest and modern equipment in the
industry, which is why I always have a wonderful movie experience every time I
go there.
So what movie will I watch next? I am
still choosing between Passengers and Assassin’s Creed, or maybe have a movie
marathon and watch both. One thing for sure, whatever movie I decide on, it
will be another happy time for me at Robinsons Place Jaro Movieworld.
