Volkswagen has come to Iloilo, opening its first showroom
outside Luzon at the Upper Ground Floor, SM City Iloilo Northwing.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Volkswagen Chief
Operating Adviser Klaus Shadewald and officers of Grand Canyon Multi-Holdings,
Inc., the official dealer of Volkswagen Iloilo. They are Peter Po, Chairman;
Jan Po, President; Carol Po, Comptroller; and Robert Po. They were joined by
Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III and Councilor Jay Treñas.
The iconic Beetle was, of course, the center of attention during
the opening as the 2017 model was proudly on display, sporty yet classic,
featuring the latest in car technology.
Also on display were The Caddy and The
Polo Sedan, which were both sold even before the party ended.
Adrian Marc Rodriguez, Sales Manager, said that having a
showroom in Iloilo does not only make the brand more accessible to potential
buyers, but will also be beneficial to those who already own a Volkswagen model
since parts and accessories are now easily obtained.
“We have a service center
with certified Volkswagen-trained mechanics that will make sure that all Volkswagen
models will be running smoothly. We will have parts for even the oldest models,
especially the Beetle,” said Rodriguez.
Volkswagen Iloilo Service Center is currently sharing space with Chevrolet along Diversion Road., just a few meters away from SM City Iloilo.
