GT Town Center Pavia is now open

Guests of the Tan Family and their tenants were treated to a sneak preview of the latest mall in Iloilo to open, the GT Town Center Pavia. Mr. Allan Ryan Tan, VP for Real Estate and Land Development of GT Town Center, welcomed guests and showed them the latest plans in the GT Town development by the International Builders Corporation (IBC).

The commercial mall is the first phase of the town project, which will be later followed by the BPO and Business units in the next phase, then the residential development for the next phase. The mall architect is Hubert Co and the whole GT Town project was done by the famous urban planning group Palafox  Associates. This came from a vision of work, play, and green living spaces. As Mr. Tan said:  Great Things are going to happen with GT.

The mall will feature mostly local entrepreneurs, all home grown Ilonggo businesses, to help and promote the local enterprise. It was a conscious decision on the part of the GT Town Center Pavia team to make sure most of those who signed up with them were local. 

It will not compete with foreign brands to assure the public that they will get great finds and treats. The mall has two floors and will aso have a park to cater to the public. The trees were not uprooted but preserved and the idea of a Green Town at GT was also followed with the addition of waste management and waste water treatments.

It has everything one needs: a supermarket, a department store, an appliance store,  a medical and diagnostic center, fashion and jewelry stores, party needs, printing shops, restaurants and cafes, spa and salons,  pharmacies, optical shops, and government services (SSS, LTO, etc). This makes it easier for shoppers from nearby towns and areas to actually just go and get items from the mall.    

There are also many housing developments in the Pavia area and the nearby homes will benefit from the convenience of the proximity of the mall which will cater to their daily shopping and business needs. They no longer have to travel to the city for whatever they need but can now just travel nearby. Mr. Alfonso “Ponso” Tan, the founder and father of IBC, informed the visitors that he will open 20 GT malls and he has 18 more to go.

Great Treats.  Grand Thrills.  Good Times.  All at GT. Their campaign plays on the word GT which was coined to honor the GO-TAN grandparents , parents of Mr. Alfonso Tan, grandparents of Mr. Allan Ryan Tan.  They migrated here from China and raised their family and grew their businesses in Iloilo.  This project is a realization of hard work and a dream for the Go-Tan family, but also a testament to the booming development and progress in Iloilo.  What used to be a quiet sleepy town in Pavia is now a busy street. Progress is really coming to the province.

Guests were treated to a program and cocktails hosted by Ms. Giselle Sannchez this afternoon. 

Formal opening of GT Town Center Pavia will be on July 19. The ribbon cutting will be at 10am followed by the 4pm meet and greet of celebrities such as Giselle Sanchez, Marco Gumabao and Tony Labrusca. Shoppers will be treated to great deals and finds on opening days and other stores have promos for the opening. It will be a great day for the people of Iloilo.
