Globe stands by its commitment to help communities in need by once again partnering with Rise Against Hunger to provide 100 food boxes for 18,000 people affected by the recent eruption of Taal volcano.
Alongside all of the company’s disaster response initiatives since the eruption, one hundred Ka-Globe together with the company’s senior leaders as well as celebrities Yayo Aguila and Lester Giri, shared their time and effort to help in the meal packing activity.
Although the alert status for Taal Volcano was already lowered down to Level 3, many residents, especially those who live in areas within the seven kilometer radius from the main crater, are still prohibited from returning to their homes. Thus, there is a need for continuous assistance to the families who are still in evacuation centers.
So far, Globe has conducted relief operations in 39 evacuation centers in Batangas and Cavite, benefitting 4,007 families or 20,035 individuals. It has also reached out to 546 families or 2,730 individuals in three barangays in Batangas in cooperation with Sagip Kapamilya, ABS-CBN Foundation’s emergency humanitarian assistance program.
Globe, likewise, enjoins its customers to make their Globe Rewards points more meaningful by donating them to Rise Against Hunger via the Globe Rewards app until February 15, 2020. Proceeds will augment RAH’s meal pack distribution and relief efforts for severely affected areas.
