'Brigada' returns with fresh episodes beginning September 19

GMA News TV’s investigative news magazine program ‘Brigada’ airs fresh episodes on its new schedule beginning Saturday, September 19, at 8:50 p.m. Host Kara David reports on various issues facing the country during this pandemic and aims to help viewers adjust to the new normal.

For the program’s episode this Saturday, JP Soriano tells the story of Baby Cedrick, a two-year-old who regularly needs three bags of platelets and two bags of blood because of his bone marrow failure syndrome, and how he survives amid a shortage in blood supply.

Victoria Tulad discusses the new normal in working as the public struggles with the work from home set-up.  She also reports on the problems concerning internet speed.

In the coming weeks, Chino Gaston reports on the issue surrounding Isla Fuga, an island in Aparri, Cagayan that has become embroiled in the West Philippine Sea debate. On his visit to the island, Chino discovers other pressing problems: the lack of a proper school and medical clinics.

In another report, Mariz Umali meets Noralyn—a locally stranded individual (LSI) who is temporarily staying in Lawton, Manila while waiting to be allowed to go home to Samar. Noralyn and her husband lost their jobs due to the pandemic and resorted to selling their own clothes to have food on the table. Another LSI, Maridel, is pregnant and waiting in a tent at the airport, hoping to travel back to her province in Dinagat Island before she gives birth this month.

Oscar Oida shows how to style your own face shield and face masks with fashion designers Carl Arcusa and Mark "Mak" Tumang. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also shows how Philippine culture plays a part in the design of some face masks.
