SM City Iloilo employees bring happiness to children

It was a day full of love as SM City Iloilo employees reached out to the children from Home for Girls, a center operated by DSWD to provide care for kids who are victims of either violence or sexual abuse, and from the Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc., a center catering to indigent kids for their basic needs.

The kids were treated to mall rides, games and prizes, Jollibee snacks and entertainment from the lovable Jollibee mascot. SM Bears of joy were also distributed to each child, which brought BIG SMILES to almost all the kids. In return, the kids provided entertainment through songs and dances as a show of appreciation to the SM employees. The employees were quite impressed with the kids’ talents.

PR Manager, Troy Camarista gave his welcome message while HR Manager, Irene Caumban concluded the activity encouraging everyone to give BIG HUGS to the kids.

The activity is part of the Employee Volunteerism Program of the mall, one of the many social projects spearheaded by SM Foundation. What makes it so special is that the resources for the activity were raised by the employees themselves. In their own little way, each employee took extra time and effort to take part in the endeavor to bring happiness to the kids.

It was indeed a day full of joy and love, a meaningful way to celebrate the Christmas season right inside the workplace.
